It most certainly is time for a new post and an update of how the Whites are doing. Since the last post, we have a new addition to our family...Grace Joelle White. She was born on October 19th, 2010 at 4:37pm. She was 6lb 11oz. She was born with pneumonia and a bacterial infection coating her lungs. She was put on a ventilator with in the first 3 hours she was born and was rushed to the NICU at Utah Valley Regional Medical first thing the next morning. She was in the NICU for 7 days straight to get rid of her infection. After a week we were able to bring her home. She has been doing great except for a quick 4 day hospital stay in February for RSV. Now she is like any other 6 month old. She is an absolute sweetheart. She is so mellow and just the happiest baby. Miss Adie will be 3 in July and is such a little mother to Grace. She also is the sassiest little thing known to man. but a lot of the things she says are hilarious. Jonathan is still working for Mountain America but is now in a different department and is loving it. His office is a lot closer to home which is so nice. I am teaching this year at an elementary school in Lehi and loving it. Life is great at the White home. Enjoy some of the latest pictures of the girls.

Well it has officially been 9 months since our last post and lots has happened in our family! Here is a quick breakdown of where we are!

Jonathan is still going to school and started at Emrby Riddle Aeronautical University back in February. He should be done in about a year and a half and then it is on to the Air Force to fly! Other than that he is still working at the credit union.

Adie just celebrated her 2nd birthday. We cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. It seems like just yesterday that we were counting down the days until she got here. She had two different parties, one with friends in family at Nana and Papa Botkin's house. It was a pool party and everyone got involved. The other was a little party in Wyoming on her actual birthday.

I (Jeana) graduated from the University of Utah in May with a degree in Elementary Special Education. In addition to that, I was hired to be a teacher at Fox Hollow Elementary in Lehi, Utah. I am excited to start this new little journey, but am really nervous at the same time! I have really enjoyed this summer off and spending it with Adie. She keeps me busy!

This summer has been a really fun one for our family that was highlighted last weekend with our trip to Yellowstone National Park. Jonathan had never been there and he absolutely loved it. We were all amazed at the Bison stopping traffic! We took a few trips to my parent's house in Wyoming and always enjoy that. Jonathan's sister came into town with her family and it is always a blast being with them.

Other than that we are just living life and loving every minute together. Oh and by the way, baby number 2, another little girl, is set to arrive in October!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. We had a great one, Adie went trick or treating for the first time and had no clue what we were doing, but had a great time. She would just smile at the poeple when they opened the door and found this...

We first started out the afternoon by going to my Mom's school to surprise her, Dad went with Adie and me.

Next we went to Jonathan's work so he could show off her costume. She was a big hit.

After that, we tried to get some pictures with Hannah and Alexis before they went out trick or treating. Erin and Greg were with us for the weekend, it was great to have them here. The girls looked great in their costumes.

And finally, we went to Nana Botkin's and took pictures with Branson and Mattox, they were both Lions. They looked adorable!!!! It was a great night and we look forward to next year!

Slacker!

Yes, yes I know, I have been a major slacker when it comes to blogging. This semester has just been kicking my butt. Jonathan is taking 19 credit hours and working full time and I am taking 15 credit hours, interning at a local high school, trying to fufill a new church calling, and trying to keep up with Adie in every sense of the word. It's been a really crazy semester, I've hardly had time to breathe. Aside from the weekly all nighters I have managed to spend time with Adie and Jonny and get some classic pictures. Here's what we've been up to.

Ode to Rosco

Sadly, at approximately 7pm last night a member of our family passed on. Rosco was a very loyal, sweet, and caring pet to us. Rosco was a happy beta fish that my brother Jeramy gave to us after he killed our other beta, Oscar while we were on vacation. Rosco lived a quite life of peace, and never complained about anything; like the time we left him on my brother Blaine's porch in January for 2 hours and he almost froze, or the time his fish bowl got so dirty that I couldn't find him and I had to swoosh around the water to see if he was still alive. And he never said a mean thing about all the people who would come over and vigorously tap and bang on his bowl, awakening him from a peaceful nap or a nice leisurely swim. No, not once did he ever complain or cause any trouble to any member of the family. After discovering Rosco floating upside down at the bottom of his bowl last night, Jonathan proceeded to give him a funeral service worthy of any deceased fish; he returned him to the sea by way of pipe. Rosco, you will be greatly missed my friend!

Last of the Summer Fun

As Summer is closely at its end, my family decided to do have one last summer outing, which took place this past Saturday. My Mom wanted all of us to hike up to Timp Caves and take the tour through the caves. It is about a 45 minute tour and was a lot of fun. Sadly Justin and Kamie couldn't make it, Justin has been out of town for work for over a week. We had a really good time laughing and joking all the way up and the caves were pretty cool. Mom and Dad were excellent troopers and kept great pace going up and coming down. The total hike is 3 miles. We are planning to do it again next summer if anyone wants to join!

A New Experience

Undoubtedly, I love my baby girl more than life itself and last night Jonny and I experienced something completely new as parents. It's one of those events that makes me love, respect, and appreciate my own parents even more. Over the past couple days, Adie has been really grumpy, clingy, and just not her happy sweet self. We figured it was because another tooth was finally coming in and showed all the normal signs of a teething Adie; bad sleeping habits, really warm, but no fever, indecisive about what she wants, only cuddles with specific people, etc. Well teething could have been a contributing factor, but on the way home last night from my parents' house, Adie was almost asleep in her car seat when I heard this unmistakable sound.......the throw-up sound. I instantly turn back and Adie had thrown-up all over herself, the car seat, and on the seat next to her. And mind you, Adie is eating solid foods now. Nice mental picture huh? She just gave me this look like, "Oooohhh, I feel so much better." Luckily we were less than a minute away from home. I immediately took her in, washed her, and put her to bed while my sweet, amazing husband took care of the car and her car seat. This has never happened before, sure the occasional spit up when she was a newborn and all of the blow outs were nothing compared to this. Happily, Adie slept like a rock and has been a very chipper baby girl this morning and seems perfectly fine. I now deeply appreciate my own parents for loving me enough to take care of me all those times that I was sick. But I guess when you love your child enough that you would move heaven and earth for them, cleaning up some throw-up isn't that bad. Well to all those parents that have already experienced these kinds of situations, I tip my hat to you and say to myself, "Welcome to Another Stage of Parenthood!" I can only pray that Adie won't be the kid who smears poop or boogers on the walls. Yuck!

Yes, it has been a while since I've posted. And since its only 11pm, I thought it was the perfect time to give you all a quick up date. After Adie's birthday party, we had a family reunion in Star Valley, WY and then we flew down to Vegas the weekend after to visit Jonny's family. Both trips were a lot of fun and Adie got to take her first airplane ride. She did great on the way down to Vegas, but coming home was a completely different story. It has been a great couple of weeks and a lot of fun to be with Jonny and Adie. Adie and her first set of wheels. Right after I took this, Adie fell out of the car. It was sad, but I was laughing so hard. Don't worry, she was fine.

Yes, you are seeing this picture correctly, my family is beating each other with pool toys. My sweet mother was in charge of the family reunion this year and she created the first ever Roundy Olympics and this was one of the events. Needless to say Christy's team won and the prizes were amazing!! Just ask some of Mom's past students.

Adie's Birthday Party

Although, Adie's birthday isn't until Wednesday, we decided to have her birthday party over the weekend since we have a family reunion the weekend of the 24th. Adie's party was great!! My whole family came to celebrate my sweet baby girl. Even Uncle Dave from Montana was here and came to the party. We had a lot of fun, we had a BBQ in our backyard, opened gifts (and there was A LOT of presents), had cake and ice cream, then the boys had a squirt gun fight in the backyard. It was a great day!! THANK YOU to all my family for coming and celebrating my sweet Adie Ru. I love this little girl more than breathing and am so happy that she is my little angel.

And of course, Adie had to have a little cake of her own. I thought it was so cute and she dug right into it and loved the icing.

I hope you can see this, but Adie was covered with cake by the time she was done. Frosting was everywhere on this child. It was cute to watch.

And lastly, this was my special gift to Adie. I made her a cuddle blanket. It has that soft silky fabric on the back and very cute poka-dots on the front. I made Jonny help me tie it. I used my Mom's new embroidery machine to stitch Mickey and Minnie and Adie's name above them. It turned out super cute and I love it. Happy Birthday Adie!!!

Its happening... Adie has crawling down like its nothing and she now working on walking. She loves to hold your hands and walk around the house. I am on the brink of tears every time I see her and Jonathan parade up and down the hallway. She is getting so big and I hate that I can't give her some kind of magic potion to slow her down from growing up so quickly. My baby is almost ready to pack up and go to college... okay maybe not college, but some days it feels that way!! Her personality is really starting to shine and she is sure going to be one funny, firey little blue eyed brunette. But no matter if she is walking or crawling, screaming or laughing, I love her so much and I am overjoyed that she is my little princess. Enjoy the video, I'll post more later.

It happened, something I have been anticipating for months now. Adie is crawling! It happened on Wednesday night. My Beehive class was over for our activity night and some of the girls were playing with her on the floor, taunting her with their cell phones and anything that was shiny and noisy and she finally couldn't take it anymore, she had to have them. So, she got up on all fours and crawled her cute little butt over to them, grabbed their cell phones and was happy as could be. I was so excited! Now, the only thing is I am forced to vacuum everyday, but its totally worth it.
Also, Adie is in the process of learning the fine art of screaming. She squeals when she's happy and excited and screams and yells at you when she's mad. Who would have thought that listening to your own child screaming at you would be so funny and cute. I'm sure I won't be saying the same thing when she's two.

10 Months!!

Yes, its true! Adie Ru is 10 months today. Time has just flown. We love this little girl more than anything. She is the sunshine in our lives and we are so grateful that she is part of our family. As of now, she is almost crawling, she loves to eat a variety of foods including spaghetti, pizza, toast, cheerios, and crackers. She still only has her bottom two teeth, but loves to bite fingers. Her favorite words now are "Momma & Dadda." And her most favorite thing to do is cruise around the kitchen in her walker. She is our princess and we love her more than words can explain. Happy 10 months Adie!!!

3 Years of Pure Bliss

Three years already? Yup! Three years ago today Jonathan and I were sealed for time and all eternity and it has been the best decisions of my life. I love Jonathan more than words can describe. He is my best friend, my cheerleader, my personal comedian, my knight and shining armor, and the amazing father of my baby girl. He treats me like a Princess and he makes my life so perfect. As promised, here are some more pictures of our fun trip to California. We started the trip off by spending the weekend with Jonathan's parents. Happily, Josh (Jonathan's brother), Heather, and baby Thomas were there the same weekend. We also spent time with Jonathan's parents and his Sister Erin and her husband Greg and our neices Hannah and Alexis. In California we saw his brother Brad and his wife Alicia and our nephew Skyler and neice Sierra. It was great to spend the weekend with them. On Easter Sunday, we spent some time with my Aunt Sydney, Uncle Jim, and my Grandmother. Adie was all dolled up for Easter Sunday. After spending the weekend in Vegas, we were off to California. A Week of Sand, Sun, and Relaxation!

We got back last Monday from a fabulous week at Hermosa Beach, CA. It was SO much fun and so relaxing. Adie discoverd sand, the sound of the ocean is very theraputic, and all three of us learned that 6am sunrise walks every morning are really aren't as bad as we would have though (this was because all week Adie's sleeping schedule was off... way off!). It was a big Botkin trip that we had been planning since early December of last year. It was much anticipated and very much enjoyed. Enjoy the pictures!!! Dont worry, I'll post more pictures.

Time for a Vacation

Well it has been awhile since out last blog update. For that we apologize. We have been super busy! Jeana has been busy with school being a great mommy and I have been busy with work and school. Both of us have been busy getting ready for our upcoming trip. As you can tell by the countdowns on the top of our blog, we are spoiling ourselves a little! Jeana's parents have rented a beach house in California and we are heading down there the end of this week to spend time relaxing. We are going to visit the places I grew up, hit Disneyland and just relax on the beach! We are stopping in Vegas to see my family as well and to spend Easter with them.

The other big announcement is that we have taken the plunge and decided to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary and Jeana's graduation by going on a Disney cruise. So June of 2010 we will be sailing the seas in the Bahamas aboard the Disney Wonder. It's a far ways off, but they sell out pretty quickly so we figured we should jump on it.

Other than that, no new news to report. Adie has 2 teeth on the bottom and is teething again for the top teeth. She is moving all over the place and will be 9 months at the end of this month! We adore her and are so happy she is part of our family.

Polk-a-dots, Pirates, and Puppies

I have these pictures that I just have to post. They are just so cute! This week has been very fun for all of us here at the White house. Between school, work, homework, and life we did manage to find time for a lot of laughs, smiles, and memorable moments.

I loved this day! Branson came over to play with Adie one day last week and Branson found a pirate patch from Disneyland and had a hay day with it. I found some old bandannas from my mission and they fit perfectly on the kiddies' heads. They were an instant hit. Branson loved being "Captain Branson" and Adie was "First Mate Adie." Branson hid his treasure chest (a plastic tool box) under some sweatshirts and had Cheri "dig" it up. It was so cute. Adie looks more like a biker girl than a pirate.

Watch out or Adie and her biker buddies will take you out back. I love this little tough face!!!!

A day at the park with Ashley and Isaac is always fun. We found a woman who had the cutest little puppies. We just couldn't resist playing with them.

I wanted so bad to bring one home for Adie and Mosley. I think Mosley would love a little brother, don't you?

6 Months Already?

My baby is 6 months old today! I can't believe it! Adie has been an amazing baby and the past 6 months have just flown by. She is rolling over, babbling all the time, smiling, giggling, and walking! Not!! I don't think I can handle her walking just yet. She has started eating baby food and her favorites include: pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, winter squash, and blueberries. She is the light of our lives and we adore everything she does. Mmmmm, sweet potatoes, what could be better? (I'd say chocolate, but I won't tell her that)

My Little Monster!

Can you believe that my baby girl is 2 weeks away from being 6 months?! Where did the time go? I don't understand, I have been with her every single day since the second she was born and now she's coming up on 6 months! She is so much fun and I just love her to pieces. Aren't these pictures adorable? My sister-in-law, Kamie took them as part of a Christmas present for my parents. They just had an adorable little boy last month.... I know, I know I have been slacking majorly about posting. I'll get an update out this week. Anyways, my baby girl is so beautiful and I love her beyond words. I as so grateful that Heavenly Father let me have her and I would do anything for her. I love you Ru Bug!!!

I know, I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. Life usually gets crazy around this time of year. She caught on real quick that splashing is not only fun for her, but splashing gets Mommy all wet too. My sister-in-law, Cheri has many amazing talents and one of them happens to be photography. I asked her to take my pregnancy pictures, Adie's birth announcement pictures, and some family pictures for me. I really needed to get my butt in gear and get some family pictures done before Adie got any bigger. We all meet up at the little park in Cedar Hills and took these. I think they are awesome!! Catch Up!

I just love October and am really sad that tomorrow is the last day of October, but at least its Halloween. I love that this month the leaves really start to change color, the wind starts blowing the leaves off, the air cools down, fall and Halloween decorations are everywhere, and the smell of fall is everywhere. My amazing mom and I have been working on Adie's costume it looks so good. I am so excited for the finished product. Let me just say that my mom is beyond amazing and she is such and awesome seamstress. We sewed everything together. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to see it. The last two weeks have been a little crazy but good all the same. We had Jonny's work retreat up at Daniel's Summit, Branson's 3rd birthday party, Kamie's baby shower, family pictures, and now Halloween. And come to think of it, the next two months are going to be just as crazy, but it will be way fun.

Jonny and I cared pumpkins for FHE on Monday night. We are such cheaters, we use that carving party kit book you can buy at Wal-Mart. This is Jonny's pumpkin with lights on and the next picture is with the lights off. It turned out pretty cool. My pumpkin was of a cat, it was more cute and causes fuzzy feelings inside than scary or cool like Jonny's.

Happy and Sad Moments

Well the past week brought a lot of fun times, and one not so fun time! Last Friday, Jonathan's family began arriving in town to participate in Adalyn's blessing. Jonathan's mom and dad, sister and brother-in-law and nieces, as well as one of his brothers made the trip to be here. It was a blast to see them and spend the weekend with them. It made for an enjoyable and relaxing weekend for us. Sunday morning Adie was blessed at our chapel in Pleasant Grove. All of Jeana's brothers and her dad stood in the circle as well as Jonathan's dad, brother and brother-in-law. Jonathan's friend Mark from the mission, Alex Johnson from the mission, and Jeana's Mission President, Jerry Hatch stood in the circle as well. It was a very special day for us.

After the blessing we went back to the Botkin house for a luncheon. Thank you to all of our family and friends that came to this special event to support us and show their love for our little family. We love you all.

Now, for the not so happy part of our week. On Tuesday, Adalyn had her 2 month check-up with Dr. Wilcox. She got 5 shots and an oral vaccine. She cried and cried all day until she finally went down for bed. Her little legs were swollen, she had a fever and her Crayon band-aids didn't seem to make her feel any better! But the good news is that the next day she was back to her same ol' cheery self. At her check-up she weighed 11 Pounds 4 Ounces and was 23 inches long. She smiles all the time and talks up a storm!

2 Months Tomorrow!

It is so weird to think that Adalyn will be 2 months old tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital, not knowing what to expect! 2 months later and all 3 of us are still alive. So I guess that means we must have figured out the basics of parenthood! Well it has been a long time since our last post, almost a month. So here is our most current update. Adalyn is over 10 pounds now, sleeps through the night (most nights) and smiles and talks all the time. She is turning out to be pretty easy to please!

The exciting news for the coming week is Adalyn's blessing. She is being blessed on Sunday, September 28! Her Nana and Papa White and some of her aunts and uncles will be coming in from out of state to be there. We are way excited to see them. Plus all her other aunts and uncles who live close will be there too and she always loves hanging out with them. Not to mention all of our friends who will be there to show their support too. It should make for a pretty fun weekend.

Yesterday Adalyn got her first experience with one of the least enjoyable things in the world...hauling hay. She went with her mom and dad, Nana and Papa Botkin, Aunt Cheri and Uncle Jeramy and her cousin Branson. She was the lucky one and got to ride in the truck with Nana the whole time. Then she got to spend a few hours in the evening with Nana and Papa while we went on a date for the first time in 2 months! It was great and she was a peach for her babysitters! The Mad Dash

We decided to take a quick trip to Vegas over the weekend. Jonathan's parents, sister, brother in law, and two neices live there as well as my aunt and uncle and my grandmother. It was a really fun trip and we got to show Adie off to a lot of people.

A Perfect Gentleman

Adie and I were hanging out with Ashley and Isaac last week and I got some of the cutest pictures. He was being so sweet and so careful with Adie. He would kiss her little head and tell Ashley, "Adie wants to slide down my slide with me," or "Adie wants to sit on my couch with me." It just melted your heart. Isaac is such a perfect little gentleman. He was so gentle when he held her and he was just beaming the whole time. He will make such an awesome big brother!!

One Month Old!!

I can't believe my baby is a month old today! That went by pretty fast, maybe it was because of all the late nights and early mornings that I just lost track of days. But the fact is my sweet baby girl is a month old today, and before I know it she'll be 2, then 10, then 16, then 18 Ohhhh!! I don't want to think about it, I just want her to stay itty bitty forever! I wonder if that is possible. I swear just yesterday I was in the labor room munching on popsicles, watching movies, and chit chatting with Jonathan during my 13 hour labor just waiting for her to get here and now she's a month old!! My, how the time does fly by quick when you aren't paying attention. But oh, she is so precious and I absolutely love and adore her. I love this picture, Ashley took it when she came to visit me in the hospital (thanks Ash!!). Adie looks so sweet and precious. My nurses in the hospital rocked and they made her such a cute name tag to sport around in when she was in the nursery.
I can't believe how itty bitty Adie was... 6lbs and 9 oz. And now she is turning into a little tank. We weighted her the other day and she is over 7lbs and 10 oz.

This is Adie's first real bath the night her cord fell off, and boy was I glad to see that thing go, I was always afraid that it would cut her little tummy and hurt her, She was very relaxed during her bath. Her facial expressions are the best! Sleeping is by far one of Adie's favorite things to do and mine is just to hold her and stare at her all day long (no wonder my house never gets clean!!).

My Mr. Amazing

So, I have to tell you how simply amazing my husband is... He is completely perfect, in every way possible. Let me explain why.... Over the weekend I was trying to be a good little wife and decided to clean out the fridge. I started to put expired food down the garbage disposal and to make a long story short, I totally clogged the pipes in my kitchen sink (note to self; big spaghetti noodles don't go down the drain very well). When water and yucky stuff started shooting back up at me I screamed and who but my amazing Jonny came running to my rescue. We tried for about 30 minutes to get it cleaned out (using a plunger and a coat hanger) and we ended up finding out our pipes were all corroded. So we went to good old Wal-Mart, got the parts we needed and my amazing Mr. Fix-It replaced the pipes and everything was a good as new in 30 minutes. Jonny ALWAYS comes to my rescue, he is my perfect Prince Charming. I love him so very very much and am so happy that he proposed to me almost 3 years ago. I love you Jonny, more than you can possibly imagine!!! Thank you baby for everything you do for me and for Adie. We love you!!!

My Two Favorite People

These two are my absolute favorite people in the world... my amazing husband and my precious baby girl. I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am that Jonathan took two weeks off of work to help me with Adalyn. It has been SO nice to have him home these past two weeks. Adalyn has just been an absolute joy to have in the house. Granted, the midnight, 2am, and sometimes 4am feedings and not getting to bed until the wee hours of the morning haven't been the greatest, but it is all totally worth it. I guess that's what happens when you have a newborn. I am however, very excited for Adalyn to get into a better sleeping pattern so that Jonathan and I can start sleeping too, but that will come soon enough. Okay, so here are some more pixs of Adie and what we have been up to the last two weeks.

Introducing Adalyn Ruth!

I have to be honest, this blogging thing is not really my forte, but Jeana was nice enough to let me be in charge of this post. She did however tell me that I had to tell the WHOLE story. But for the friends and family members that have been waiting for this post...I will post pictures throughout it, so you don't have to wait till the end to see the cutest baby ever born!

So there I was on Monday afternoon getting ready to do some training with some tellers at the South Jordan branch of the credit union that I work for. Just as we were getting ready to start our training session I get a phone call. Jeana's voice on the other end says "Jonny, how good is your sense of humor?" I said it was fine and asked her why. Her response is so typical for Jeana and anyone that knows her knows this is exactly what would come out of her mouth. She said "My water just broke and I called the hospital. They told me to come in as soon as possible. So I am getting on the train and when I get to the hospital I will call you and let you know what happens!" Don't worry, I didn't make her ride the train and go to the hospital by herself. I told her to stay put and I drove to Salt Lake to pick her up. It was quite evident when I got there that her water had indeed broken. After the 45 minute drive to the hospital, it also became quite evident I would be needing to get my car detailed!

So we get to the hospital and Jeana is checked by a nurse and admitted on the spot. We move into a very nice room at the American Fork Hospital and began the tedious 13 hour labor. About an hour into the labor Jeana decided she was ready for the epidural. As you can see, that didn't help, Jeana was miserable through the whole process!

Actually, the entire process, from labor to about 45 minutes of pushing was a cake walk for Jeana. She even told me yesterday when it was all over that she actually enjoyed the entire process. She was quite the trooper and I am so proud of her for it. At about 2:25 in the morning on Tuesday the 22nd, Jeana was FINALLY dilated to a 10 and ready to push. So that's what she did. 45 minutes later, which actually flew by, this is what the world was introduced to!

I have to be honest, I was kind of taken back by what she looked like fresh out of the womb! But that didn't last long. As you will be able to tell by the next picture, a little Johnson and Johnson goes a long way!

Adalyn Ruth White weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 18 inches long. She was born at 3:10 am on July 22, 10 days before her expected arrival! She is completely healthy and we couldn't be happier.

Jeana gave us all quite a scare later that morning, but was fully recovered from that mishap by later that afternoon. She is back to her same old self and refuses to slow down. We came home from the hospital this morning and we are all doing just fine...tired, but fine nonetheless.

So now I will just give you all what you really came for...a bunch of pictures. But before I do that, I just want to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support for all three of us over the past few days. We had a ton of visitors and received a ton of gifts and phone calls. It is truly appreciated.

The 4th of July!!!

So, I promised my adoring fans (Ashley) that I would be super duper good and write in my blog once a week. As you can see, that didn't go very far at all. I am determined though to be better at this and with less than a month to go until my due date arrives, I better get into the habit of updating my blog or it will never get done. Okay on to happier news.... the 4th of July!! I love the 4th. I remember as a little kid being mezmorized by the sounds and the sights of the fireworks, having family BBQ's, the parades with red, white, and blue everywhere you look, and everyone being so proud of our country and openly showing it. You quickly realize how important an event or holiday is when it is not celebrated or even acknowledge. I learned this the hard way while on my mission in the Philippines. The Philippines doesn't celebrate the 4th, Thanksgiving, July 24th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, or Halloween. Naturally they wouldn't, these are American holidays, but it just felt so weird not celebrating them. My native companions thought I was just plain nuts when the 4th of July or Thanksgiving was around the corner and I would get so excited. They too had their own holidays that were celebrated and they were a lot of fun, very different then our holidays, but still a lot of fun. Anyways, the point of this post is to say that I am VERY proud to be an American and to live in this beautiful, sacred, and amazing country we call the U.S.A. I am deeply grateful for every man, woman, and child that has served, is serving, and will serve to keep our country safe and free. I really am excited to celebrate the 4th this year with my hot husband, he truly is my best friend. And I am even more excited for next year's 4th of July when my sweet baby girl will be here with us to celebrate this special holiday.

Finally Getting There

Well, what can I say? I am finally doing what I have been telling Ashley I would do for months now..start a blog. Over the past six months I have become a blogoholic, spending loads of time going through friend's and family's blogs seeing what they have been up to. Blogging became such a rush for me that I would check every one's blogs at least two or three times a week just to see what was new. And then, when I did run into friends or family I would start going on and on to them about what had happened to them the week before or how cute their pictures were, or ask them how the zoo was, and all sorts of questions, or tell them how much I loved their slide shows. They would simply stare at me with the most confused looks on their faces and I would have to explain that I have been stalking them through their blogs. I wonder if they have a Bloggers Anonymous class. I should probably check into that. Well anyways, dear sweet Mrs. Ashley D kept telling me that I needed to get a blog set up and quite honestly I just didn't have the time and I thought our lives were so boring (school and work) that no one would want to know what we were up to. So, now that I'm pregnant, due very soon, taking a break from school and will be quitting my job soon I decided it was great time to stop making excuses and start blogging. I'm far from any of the faboulous prize winning blogs that you all have, but I'll catch up soon enough!
